What Do I bring to Arctic Fox Environmental?

I bring extensive experience in environmental chemistry, research and development, and laboratory safety, with a strong educational background in biochemistry, biology, biotechnology, and chemistry.

Background:

As an Environmental Chemist at RMB Environmental Laboratory, I conducted routine sample preparation and testing on various water types, adhering to MDH and TNI standards and implementing stringent QC/QA procedures. I have expertise in testing ammonia, chlorides, sulfates, total phosphorus, TKN, metals, oil & grease, turbidity, and more. My proficiency with instruments such as PerkinElmer GFAA, FIMS, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and software like WinLab32 and Microsoft Office ensures precise and efficient laboratory operations. My role also involved daily data review and validation, method development, and SOP reviews to improve efficiency benchmarks and inter-laboratory goals.

During my time as an R&D Food Technologist at Kenny's Candy & Confections, I was responsible for product development, formulation, and regulatory compliance, working closely with clients and the R&D team. I developed benchtop samples, scaled up data for potential plant trials, and maintained the nutritional and labeling database.

In my previous position as an ICP Chemist at Pace Analytical at 3M, I conducted trace metal analysis for 3M’s Cooperate Research Analytical Laboratory, utilizing ICP-OES and ICP-MS instruments for my analytical techniques.  Proficient in cleanroom environment protocols and procedures. I also held the role of Safety Representative to ensuring a safe working environment for laboratory employees.

My earlier experiences as a Chemist Assistant at the Minnesota Department of Agriculture provided me with foundational skills in sample preparation, extractions, and data reporting in LIMS, within regulated laboratory environments.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Minnesota
  • Associate in Biology, Associate in Biotechnology, and Associate in Chemistry from Minneapolis Community and Technical College

My diverse background, combined with my technical expertise and commitment to laboratory safety, positions me well to excel as a Laboratory Supervisor at Arctic Fox Environmental.
